Description and Objectives

Assertiveness

Enables participants to identify, explore, and practise the skills involved in being assertive.

Coaching Skills

This course enables staff to structure the coaching process and explore different skills required in coaching.

Enables participants to identify the key skills involved in effective business communication and to practice techniques for improving their skills.

Communication Skills

Enables staff to recognise and practice different styles of communication and decide on the most appropriate one for their needs and the needs of their audience.

Customer Care

Enable staff to identify their customers, explore concerns and discuss techniques for improving customer care within their organisations.

Effective Appraisal

Enables staff to maximise development opportunities using your organisation's appraisal scheme. Covers the principles of good appraisal for both appraisers and appraisees, looks at interviewing techniques, setting objectives and self-appraisal. (Can be adapted and tailored to suit either audience but is designed for both.)

Interviewing Skills

Enables staff to identify and practice key interviewing skills.

Managing Performance

Designed to enable participants to effectively manage their own and their team's performance.

Managing Your Manager

Enables staff to identify key management skills, establish problem-solving techniques and build relationships at work.

Management Workshops

A series of 2 hour workshops covering 'managing yourself', 'motivation - getting the best out of people', 'the manager as coach' and 'delegation'.

Meeting Skills

To enable participants to prepare, plan and participate effectively in meetings.

Minute Taking

Enables staff to develop techniques for dealing with a variety of situations in which they are required to take minutes. Covers planning, preparation, different techniques for taking notes, turning notes into minutes.

NVQ Training and Assessment

Provides an introduction to NVQs for staff who wish to train as NVQ Assessors. Follow-up assessments provided for candidates going through the D32/D33 process.

Presentation Skills

Enables staff to design and deliver better presentations.

Report Writing

Enables staff to identify the essential components of a report, to recognise examples of good and bad writing and to practice techniques for improving report writing skills.

Running Groups

Designed to enable participants to explore the different techniques for managing small or large groups.

Team Building

Sessions are structured to enable team members to focus on team and business needs, and plan effectivetively for the future.

Time Management

Enables staff to focus on their own time management problems and identify and establish good time management techniques.
